Hi, I'm Simon, based in Bideford- Devon, I create authentic images for weddings across Devon, the South West and beyond. I love wedding photography and it will show not only in the final product but throughout your day.
I have the best job in the world.
My most comprehensive package features full-day coverage (I often stays until 11:00pm) with documentary and traditional-style photography; all images are developed in both timeless colour and classic black and white and delivered on a USB as well as an online gallery. Packages range from £800-£1500 plus as I've had the pleasure of photographing some truly original weddings (e.g. whole weekend festival style when I've stayed the night, multi-day Indian weddings and tiny elopement style weddings with just two guests), I therefore offer a bespoke service in order that I can provide you the very best coverage of your wedding. If you've got a particular budget in mind- I can quickly tell you what I can do for you.
I will be bringing my GoPro camera and drone to your wedding*. We can use the GoPro to record your ceremony from the registrar's table, attach it to the groom, put it on your dog's collar, stick it on a selfie stick, ask a flower girl or pageboy to go around interviewing your guests and even strap it to a bottle of whisky in the evening and have it passed around. What ideas have you got?
I will use the drone to take stunning videos to contextualise your wedding. Perhaps starting off looking at the two of you before flying up and off over fields or the sea (or photographs of the two of you dancing from above). I'm excited and inspired by the possibilities of this new tech.

How far in advance should I contact you?
I think contacting photographers should be number 2 on your list, so as soon as you've found your venue I'd love to hear from you

Yes, the South West usually but if you've got an exciting proposal in mind please get in contact as I can always stay the night before and or after your day

I'm friendly (occasionally sarcastic) and I'll get to know you and your guests and because of that everyone drops their guard and photographs are natural; it will feel like I'm a guest not a supplier
What kind of equipment do you use?
I use Nikon cameras: Z9, Z7 and Z6 with prime lenses (these fast lenses offer the very best quality and allow me to blur out the background for that gorgeous creamy look we all love)
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, i use Pixieset for you to share images whilst the USB packed full of images works its way to you in the post
What's the delivery time for a photographic report?

I would only charge for extra time if a couple choose to change the booking from a half day to a full day, if it's just an hour or two I wouldn't dream of charging- I love my job!

Most people pay with bank transfers, I only ask for a small deposit

As the Mother of the bride I had not met Simon before the wedding morning, so did not know what to expect. Simon was definetly one of the things I did not need to worry about, he was the ultimate professional. He instantly put everyone at ease with his friendly smile/manner and just the right amount of humour and direction. He didnt impose in the church but still took some amazing photographs. He captured the essense of the day perfectly and we have, forevermore, so many wonderful memories of the day bought back to life so skillfully through his photography. Thank you Simon.

Such a brilliant photographer and lovely person!
Simon was an exceptional photographer, very friendly and easy to talk to, so much enthusiasm and made us feel at ease throughout the day. He was very unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception, blending in seamlessly and got on so well with us and all our guests. The range of beautiful and fun shots he got was fantastic, lots of lovely candid ones as well as formal ones. There were some brilliant ones of the children too. He listened to our ideas as well as bringing some of his own and was very flexible and easy going.
He also got the photos back to us so quickly!
Couldn't recommend him more, it was a pleasure to have him be part of our special day and we will treasure the snapshots he captured.

Such a relaxing and fun photographer!
Simon is a dreamboat. Whilst getting ready he built rapport with all the bridal party making you feel like you have known him years and able to actually relax and enjoy being around a camera (something I am not normally comfortable with). He came early, was there all day and helped coordinate a gaggle of drunken adults to get all the group shots done on time. Which I can’t imagine was easy as they were a loud bunch! Simon then was there until the bitter end taking snaps. We got a few sneak peeks on the day, followed by his “top picks” 2 weeks later to have a USB of 900 pics in colour and black and white to go through when we return from honeymoon. Already LOVING the night pics of everyone just having a ball! Dancing, singing, being daft. Love them all! Thank you so much Simon for being a more personal photographer who captured the true essence of the day rather than staged and what would have been more awkward photos of me and the now hubby!!

You need Simon too!
We will try to keep this short, but to save you reading the whole review here's the headline - Simon is absolutely awesome and we believe he would be a great addition to your wedding. In the words of the maid of honour when she saw the first collection of our wedding photos "wow Simon is brilliant, he really knows what he is doing!".
Simon has been a delight at every single stage, from our first email getting in touch, to our engagement shoot, to the all important wedding day itself. Neither of us would claim to be confident in front of the camera, yet Simon put us and our guests at ease with his relaxed and funny nature.
We are extremely grateful for all of the hard work Simon has put in to make sure our wedding day was captured perfectly. Throughout our contact with Simon he has always gone the extra mile and his enthusiasm for getting the perfect shot is certainly catching! His commitment to the cause actually landed him in a river, or two, and we love him for that.

Apart of the family
Right from the get go of emailing, Simon was nothing but professional and made my wife and I feel very comfortable. It was an easy decision to choose Simon for our wedding after a few emails to see he was the right fit for us. The personality and chemistry of the photographer means more on the wedding day than you realise, thats not to take anything away from Simons work simply a thought for all you future brides and grooms.
Now the important bit, Simons pictures are simply incredible. He knew how to organise all guests, he knew what makes a great picture and he has gave us and all our guests some incredible pictures to help remember our day. Simon was always there to answer any of our questions and throughout the whole day he managed to capture the atmosphere and the emotions of the day and night as he was there all night.

Amazing photographer
Simon (acronym photography) was absolutely amazing at our wedding. We are so glad now that we chose him. The prices were reasonable for the packages offered, and he even let us change package fairly close to the wedding and agreed a new price with us. He was always available for any questions and responded very quickly. At the wedding he went above and beyond and everyone commented how great he was. He knew I wanted pictures of me and my husband above all else so really concentrated on these which was perfect, but also got all the group shots we asked for and organised all guests really efficiently. He stayed later than he said he would to get more shots of the evening as well. The photos are fantastic as well. There are so many! An amazing mix of posed shots and natural shots and they are so artistic and lovely. He even got his drone out and we got a beautiful video. Simon also put a collection of 100 photos onto an online album so we could see them before our USB arrived with the other hundreds of photos on (both in black and white and colour of each photo). He also doesn't force you to go with a printing package but gives you ALL the photos then recommends good printers to use.
Two things that were also great is that the day after the wedding (!) Simon sent us about 8 photos of the day he had already edited so we got some amazing photos to look at and share straight away. Also, prior to the wedding he shared his ideas for great photograph ideas if it was to rain so I felt confident that we would get great photos no matter what. He also kept a wedding favour from our wedding and sent it back to us with our USB which was such a lovely surprise and such a thoughtful thing to do when he didn't have to.
I would not hesitate to recommend Simon as a wedding photographer, and I will definitely be using him for all photography needs in the future!

Fantastic photographer, amazing pictures and loved by all present at our wedding.
Simon photographed our wedding in February 2023. From our first conversations with him, he couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating.
He arrived on our wedding morning and got straight to work with getting ready pictures, venue pictures and even took himself off and got some awesome arial shots with his drone!
Throughout the day he blended in amazingly, not missing a shot and then during group pictures was absolutely spot on with organising people for the correct picture.
Simon got some fantastic shots of us with our dogs - which is no mean feat as they don't sit still for more than three seconds.
Simon then stayed on into the night, capturing some excellent dance floor pictures (some of our favourites!)
Everyone of our guests commented on Simon, and how fantastic he was at getting people involved for the pictures. Encouraging people to dance and not worry about the camera.
By the following morning, I'd had an email with 4 'sneak peak' pictures which were so exciting to see so soon after the wedding.
Before long, we had a link to a selection of high definition pictures which told the story of our day. We were beyond impressed looking through these amazing pictures and it was so lovely to be able to re-live our day.
Not long after, we got a lovely little parcel in the post containing a USB stick with a phenomenal amount of photos on, and a few other lovely little surprises. The pictures were everything we could have asked for and more. Simon didn't miss a thing, got a prefect picture of every part of the day and was so genuine, kind and helpful.
We would 100% recommend Simon to anyone after a wedding photographer.

Our wedding day
Simon has produced the most beautiful pictures of our day. He was friendly and adaptable to our needs and we hardly noticed he was there taking the most natural ‘in the moment shots’ . You will not be disappointed if you chose Simon to capture your special day , 100% would recommend him!

Simon is amazing!
Simon was just beyond amazing for our wedding. I had met him a couple weeks before and he made me feel so relaxed instantly and he was so friendly!! It was like having a drink with a old friend.
On the day he turned up and knew when to joke to help with nerves and made both me and my camera shy husband feel so at ease. The group photos were done so well and quickly but beautifully as this is surprisingly a really tedious part of the photos you want. He was super fun and felt like you had your best mate taking the shots making the whole process fun.
He was so great with my camera shy 20 month old son and my crazy 3 year old daughter. He caught moments in the day you didn’t even realise happened! He captures just moments that mean so much!! Our couple photos were just so stunning and I was so nervous about having my bride photos and he made me feel so confident and pretty it was just perfect
Simon is literally an amazing photographer. He makes you feel so relaxed and makes you smile. He is 10/10 and the only advice I would take is I wish I had booked him for longer because the shots we got I just didn’t want them to end

From the moment we met Simon we felt at ease. We spoke about our Wedding day, sharing our ideas and receiving a quick masterclass on posing for photos.
Simon kept in contact before our big day and we even met at the venue before so we could look at some potential shots.
The day of our wedding Simon greeted us dressed for the occasion with special attention to his shoes!
