Established in 1952, Talbooth Restaurant is a charming wedding venue in Colchester, Essex. Located in the heart of Constable country. Talbooth Restaurant is a modernised 16th century listed building with a stunning Marquee set within the riverside gardens that gently curve along the River Stour. This licensed location is lovely and when the sun is shining and the flowers are in bloom, there are very few places that can top it.

Preparation is key and the staff here will be as involved as you need them to be. From your first viewing to the final dance, we will work tirelessly on every detail. Weddings are what we do. No two are the same, but all are delivered with the utmost care, consideration and attention to detail.

At the Talbooth you have the option of booking both a civil ceremony and a wedding reception venue all in one place. Having your ceremony in the River Room and reception in our Marquee provides you with exclusivity of the entire venue until early in the evening when our restaurant re-opens to diners.
