It’s no wonder the South Causey have won awards, our wedding ran absolutely flawlessly! The wedding packages are amazing and take away so much stress when planning! The venues are all absolutely stunning but the Old Barn is just so beautiful! The staff were all so professional and amazing. Andrew our wedding coordinator was perfect! He made me feel at ease when my nerves starting to kick in. Any problem he was able to handle and he gave the best advice. He went above and beyond and made sure it was the perfect day for us, what a hard worker! We had the best day and wish we could do it all over again!

Can’t recommend this venue enough, or Andrew as our wedding coordinator. The food was unbelievable and everyone commented on this. The deco of the barn was breathtaking and all inclusive within the package. I felt very special and support from the day we booked this and literally couldn’t ask for any more.

What a place 😍 We were fortunate enough to have our wedding at The Old Barn @ South Causey on 22nd July, and what a perfect decision we made.

The entire South Causey team were sensational; helpful all day, no request was too much, patient with any ‘interesting’ ideas we had, and the perfect hosts for our special day.

I cannot post a review without a special mention for our wedding coordinator though! Throughout the process, the entire wedding team and accommodation team were the perfect professionals, and helped us bring our vision to life… but the lengths Dean went to in order to make our day perfect for us, that was something we could only have dreamed of! Dean is so well organised, so calm during the chaos, and exactly what we needed in a wedding coordinator with all the crazy, out-there ideas we had for our big day. I honestly don’t think we could’ve got through the process without him. If you read this Dean, you’re a star and we cannot thank you enough for all you did for us!! You deserve a massive rest, and an even bigger medal!

From the moment we booked this venue it was a dream. Everyone is so friendly and the attention to detail is phenomenal. We had our wedding in the Tanfield Suite followed by our reception in the Durham Suite. Every moment was FLAWLESS. The day went without a single problem and the rooms were decorated beautifully. A special shoutout to our wedding co-ordinator Andrew, you were simply amazing, so calming in those precious panicking moments before the ceremony and nothing was ever too much to ask. You are amazing at your job and made us all feel very welcome. Thank you so much to the South Causey team who made our day truly beautiful from beginning to end.

It’s so hard to put into words how wonderful our wedding day at the South Causey Inn was.

The decor, the food, the drink, the entertainment were all perfect - but most importantly we floated through the day without a care in the world thanks to the marvellous Andrew. Andrew made the day seamless from start to finish, he orchestrated everybody with such ease - and somehow managed this without ever being front and centre, bossy or imposing (an impressive feat with our rabble!)

If we needed anything Andrew was there, not only for practical details but to offer us both a kind word and reassurance when the nerves kicked in.

He made it possible for us to concentrate on the important parts - our marriage and our family and friends, while every other detail was executed perfectly for us by Andrew and the rest of the team at the South Causey.

Highly recommend South Causey for anyone getting married! My husband and I are almost like passing ships with a very busy life so finding a venue that took control of organising everything was absolutely ideal for us both! The day was so relaxed everyone complimented the venue, views and the staff who went absolutely above and beyond. Thank you so much to the amazing Andrew and all of the staff involved!

We were married in the Durham suit! And all I can say is my god. The day from start to finish was amazing, it all ran so smoothly and we honestly didn’t lift a finger.

Andrew and his team were amazing, Andrew was our advisor and he honestly made every vision we had come to life. He was there from the day before right through to the very end and nothing was to much of an ask. He really did understand exactly what we wanted and was just so friendly and attentive. Never been made to feel special as we did on our wedding day. Andrew and the all the team were also so understanding when it came to our daughter and made it special for her as well as us.

The food was out of this world and the portion sizes amazing! And the drinks from prices to quality were amazing.

If I could do it all again tomorrow I would in a heart beat. The south causey inn was the only venue we looked it and I fell in love instantly and on the day they showed everyone why I fell in love so easily. All our guest are still raving about it now.

I can honestly say that the 4th May was definitely a day to remember. Iam so pleased we chose the South Causey Inn to celebrate our wedding day. The lead up to the wedding was superb, we were very informed regarding what we needed to do and when. The team listened and valued our opinion and nothing was ever a problem regarding questions or general advice.
The lead up to our day was a heart warming feeling and when we were able to see the incredible Durham suite set up to help us celebrate, we were blown away!!

Our wedding coordinator was Andrew and he is a fantastic asset to the wedding team! What made our experience truly exceptional was the unwavering dedication and expertise of our wedding coordinator, Stacey. From the very beginning, Stacey was an absolute pleasure to work with. Serbie and I just started our wedding planning in August 2022 to get married on April 2023 (so it left us with only 8 months of planning!😅🤣), therefore, I was a bit of a stressed bride to be 😅. Since we secured our booking in September 2022, I kept coming back to the venue whenever there's a venue showcase day to speak to the wedding staff, and Stacey has always been there to reassure me that everything is going to be fine on the day.

Stacey went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our wedding day was flawlessly executed.

The wedding team lead by Stacey meticulously planned every detail, from the timing of the ceremony to the arrangement of the reception, ensuring a seamless flow of events. Their wealth of knowledge and experience was invaluable, as they guided us through the entire planning process with patience and grace. As I was a stressed bride to be, Stacey, and other staff members including Stephanie did everything they could and done an amazing job on reassuring me, which I appreciate up to this day.

On the day of our wedding, Stacey was like an angel. I was astonised by how amazing Stacey was on the day. During our meetings she has been giving me the sweet and caring vibes but on the day, she was so sophisticated, friendly yet professional, kept us updated with the order of events, timings and everything. Serbie and I and the rest of the guests were impressed by how organised the day was and it was all because of Stacey and the team's hard work and dedication. Stacey and the rest of the crew effortlessly coordinated with all the suppliers including our MC, making sure that everything ran smoothly behind the scenes, allowing us to fully enjoy and savour every moment of our day. Their calm and reassuring presence helped alleviate any stress or worries, and they ensured that all our preferences and requests were taken care of to perfection.

The level of service provided by Stacey and the entire staff at South Causey Inn was exemplary. Every member of the team was friendly, attentive, and dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience for us and our guests. The quality of the food, the attention to detail in the decor, and the impeccable service throughout the evening exceeded all expectations.

Our wedding day was everything we had envisioned and more, thanks to the incredible efforts of Stacey and the entire team. We are eternally grateful for their commitment to making our day absolutely perfect. The memories we created in this beautiful venue will be cherished for a lifetime.

We had the best wedding here in January.
Our whole wedding package was brilliant. The food was AMAZING! From start to finish the team were great. Everything ran so smoothly on the day which was largely due to our wedding coordinator Andrew. He made sure everything ran like clockwork without it being regimented. Any last minute thoughts i had he had already thought of and had sorted for me. I couldn't recommended the South Causey Inn highly enough.

I am absolutely blown away by the amazing staff that helped make my wedding day so special. From start to finish, the staff were attentive, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we have the most special amazing day. Our wedding coordinator Andrew was just amazing, he was the loveliest man I have ever met and ensured our day ran perfectly from the night before to the end of the wedding day. The food was perfect and all of our guests commented how amazing it was. Everyone said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and that’s down to the amazing staff at the south Causey inn. The south causey inn , WOW they beat our expectations and really gave us the best wedding ever, the venue was just beautiful and the staff all went out of our day to ensure we had the most perfect day!! Andrew in particular was fabulous he ensured we were well looked after and gave us a day to remember he really knows what he’s doing!! The package we chose was the festival package and it really covers everything you need for a fun and fabulous day to remember. All our guests commented on what an amazing day they had. We had our wedding at South Causey Inn, Stanley and I couldn't fault the day at all. Andrew was our wedding coordinator and he was incredible, he always checked in to make sure we were both ok and had everything we needed. Even when my man of honour was struggling with one of the dogs, he stepped in to help. He's an absolute asset!
The venue speaks for itself, with it's beautiful surroundings and rustic feel, it was exactly what myself and my wife were looking for. The rooms were gorgeous and they put thought into the guest who was staying there. We had 3 dogs, and water bowls, beds, treats & toys were supplied ready for when we arrived along with a beautiful message in chocolate "ding, dong your getting married" on our first night. These little things are what make it that little more magical.
The wedding day couldn't have gone any smoother, Andrew ensuring we kept with timings (since the day goes so quick) and making sure we were where we needed to be. From myself & my wife I would like to thank everyone at South Causey Inn for making our dream into a reality.

He went out of his way above and beyond to make sure everything went perfect. Anything we needed he was there to help. For example I had lost my little girls nappies and he offered to send someone to the local shop to get some. Then when we needed her push chair from one the rooms instead of a family member going to get this he offered and went and got this for us. Also my dad had left his phone in the pamper room from the night before I was stopping in not knowing who’s phone it was he found out it was my dads and returned it to him. Honestly he went above and beyond with them little things that just show how brilliant they are. They make you feel like royalty for the day. I can’t recommend the south Causey inn to people enough who are looking to get married! The food the staff the venue everything is just incredible! Thank you so much to the staff especially Andrew for making our day so fantastic!!
