Wow! What can we say? A perfect day was had at the Lawn, with superb organisation, friendly staff and a beutiful building!

We're thankful to David, Mandy, Michael, Katrina, Debbie and all the staff at The Lawn for all their hard work, patience and understanding in accommodating us for our special day.
We are thrilled with how everything went and so are especially pleased for having chosen The Lawn.
The entrance is a delight with ducklings and horses as you enter the grounds which were beautifully kept; the cuisine was delicious and fantastically presented; Michael was excellent in his communication to keeping timings going along; Mandy was extremely helpful at key times; David was reassuring with the music and their waiting and bar staff were wonderful too.
Not only on the day, but the preparations from the very first visit and the number of adjustments with Mandy, our special requests with Michael and all the invoicing and calls with Katrina and David too, we never felt that anything was too much trouble. This along with everything else means that The Lawn is a special place and always will be for us as well as many others - arrange a visit and you will see!

The whole team at The Lawn were incredible while we were planning our wedding and on the day itself. Everything went to smoothly - they were seamless. Everything happened exactly as we’d planned and everyone was friendly and welcoming the entire day. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

My now husband and I fell in love with the Lawn as soon as we arrived at our venue viewing - we knew it was where we wanted to marry. It's in a lovely location, a quiet pocket of Rochford and it has a beautiful gazebo for an outdoor wedding. We were so fortunate with the weather and had the most perfect August day. The service and food was impeccable, the Lawn worked so hard in the leadup and on the day to make sure everything went smoothly. A particular shout out to David especially, who dealt with my many questions with such professionalism and willingness. Also thanks to the maintenance manager Andy, who assisted my bridal party with some odd jobs with the setup and was such a friendly and calming presence (exactly what we needed on the wedding morning!).
Our wedding day could not have gone more smoothly and we have no regrets at all with having chosen the Lawn. Even now, we get comments from so many friends and family saying what a beautiful location it was and how much there was to see and explore. A highly recommended venue! Thank you, David and team!

Simply perfect. They know what they are doing and clearly love what they do. Attention to detail is impeccable, down to simple things such as matching ties to our theme (disney). Helped make our day go perfectly 🥰

Friendly and helpful in all areas. Went above and beyond to enable our special day to go smoothly at all times.
Use of bridal suite was amazing. We was all relaxed and chilled. Our guests highly praised the "Wedding breakfast". It was delicious. The Lawn is spectacular and the gardens are beautiful.

Such a beautiful venue. Could not think of anywhere more beautiful to get married. The staff at The Lawn were always so professional and helpful from the planning process and throughout the day. I was allowed to arrive at any time on the day and was made to feel very welcome. The actual service, smooth running of events (all excellently managed by the staff) and fantastic catering really ensured we had an unforgettable wedding. Thoroughly recommend!!

David and the team were attentive and adapted to all our needs - 100% recommend this venue to anyone as they really helped to make our day extra special especially with covid 19!

The whole team did everything to make our day so special. Unfortunately the English weather didn't play ball with us, but it didn't affect the day at all. Everyone was so helpful and the day ran so smoothly. We just wish we could do it all again! Would recommend as a wedding venue!

It’s been a month and we still haven’t quite got over it ! Thank you ever so much for the perfect wedding . From the day we viewed The Lawns to the second we left you and your staff were absolutely second to none.

We were made to feel welcome and very much at ease with no-one being rushed or pressured throughout the day.
The food was absolutely superb and was complimented by every single one of our guests.

The service from yourself and all of your staff was magnificent . Never once was anything to much or too little and the attention to detail just was perfect .

Thanks again for making our day nothing less than perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better day at all .

Wedding & Reception 4th June 2022. Staff very helpful during booking process with lots of helpful hints to make our day special.
Wedding was 'FANTASTIC ' staff were attentive, efficient & unobtrusive throughout would highly recommend this venue

From start to finish the Lawn have been amazing. Our day was perfect, we able to set up the day before and had the venue to ourselves. It’s just utterly perfect if you’re having a smaller, more intimate wedding (like us). I wish I could do it all over again!

We first toured the lawn in July 2021 and found it's packages appealing to us as we wanted quite an easy day with minimal organising on our part.Leading up to our wedding the contact with the lawn was very good, via phone and email.

The real issues started on our actual wedding day. Imagine it, you drive up to your wedding venue on your wedding day and there is no one to greet you, you let yourself in. We went in and I found one of my bridesmaids who had been told there was a room upstairs and met our hair dresser. Not a staff member in sight beyond people bringing food supplies upstairs outside the bride's room and leering in.

The day presses on and I go downstairs to set up centrepieces and what not and I found that a highchair had been places in the wrong place- everything else was set up perfectly. So I swapped the highchair and went to find a member of staff to swap the setting. I actually had to stop a young girl walking by and ask do you work here?

Throughout the morning we were getting ready upstairs and I was saying do you think anyone is going to come and talk to us? Eventually the same girl comes upstairs and goes to one of my bridesmaids sitting in the chair having her hair done and calls her by my name to ask about sandwiches to be brought up, thinking she is the bride. Naturally my friend was quite embarrassed. I couldn't help but think, is this your first day - there's 5 women in the room? Had the venue of actually been there to welcome us in and asked which one of us was the bride this could of easily been avoided.

The next issue was with confetti, at this point my friends are trying to take my mind of what so far has been a completely impersonal experience. One of my friends went to put confetti on the chairs outside where we were having the ceremony (with the intent the officiant would ask them to hang onto it for confetti shots on the grass afterwards)

While she's doing this a man comes over and tells her that she can't put them there and that they have designated confetti spots- where these are he did not say. She ends up asking 'what is your role here?' to which he responds that he is the owner. Once again, is it difficult to send people to greet you and introduce themselves to avoid these awkward encounters?

Eventually a different lady comes upstairs (once again doesn't introduce herself- no one has a name here) to talk about the confetti and essentially said we have to go straight to drinks after the ceremony with no budging - this is of course fair enough but at no points offers a suggestion on what over couples do, when and where. My photographer ends up getting involved at this point and actually has to coordinate with them to some extent on my behalf.

There was a few more teething issues but they all have the same underlying issue in that no one appears to be present downstairs, despite great communication prior to the day it's now as if no one works here. When my husband arrived once again there was no one to greet him/liase with.

As the day went on it did improve as everything came into full swing, we did get married outside and it was lovely, the serving staff for drinks and food were polite and friendly.

We later had issues once again with the staff being generally unhelpful when trying to do the confetti shot - essentially unwilling to assist in anyway/direct us where we are allowed to do the pictures. We did eventually do this and they are our favourite pictures of the day! I understand that we hadn't hired a coordinator in the hiring of the venue but it did feel like the bare minimum effort required at this point.

The evening pressed on and everyone was having a great time apart from the no drinks on the dance floor part which is really quite understandable. The move of the centerpieces into the main room with the buffet was really nice and swift. DJ included in the package was great too.

I know everyone says that it the best day of their lives but I think perhaps this hides some of the issues. This venue has astoundingly good value for money. I understand that they do a lot of weddings so I am a bit miffed as to why basic interpersonal skills are missing? I write this fully aware I may sound like a 'Karen' but my husband and I are in our mid twenties and wanted a pretty stress-free day so the lawn in many ways was perfect but it ultimately became stressful as there was 0 communication on the day. I was extremely disappointed with there being absolutely no point of contact throughout the day, no 'let us know if you have any questions' and ultimately no friendly faces/enthusiasm from the staff. These are basic hospitality skills. It's really quite sad that this is what we remember from our day two months ago now.

I can only assume because of the cheaper rates they have assumed that they don't have to provide this kind of personal experience but it really goes a long way. It did feel as if we had just rented a hall and caterers came with it. We did have a lovely wedding day, but the staff really need to get their act together.

You should really feel special on your wedding day, you've spent thousands at this one place, they should know your name, you should know theirs.

I contemplated calling to give this feedback but received an impersonal email to review them here so thought this might be the best way to share my thoughts.

We loved having our wedding at the lawns couldn't recommend it enough, staff was all very helpful and professional and nothing was too much trouble.
